Indian Army and CBC conducts special awareness drive for Agnipath

In a special drive to make large number of youngsters aware about Agnipath scheme, Central Bureau of Communication (CBC),  Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and Zonal Recruitment Office (ZRO), Indian Army, Jalandhar collaborated for inducting maximum number of interested youth in Army as Agniveers as well as Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs) and Commissioned Officers.
 
The awareness program – cum – exhibition was organised by the CBC in coordination with the district administration at MRPD Govt. College, Talwara, today.
 
Col. Jaiveer Singh, Director, Recruitment, ZRO, Jalandhar was the Chief Guest and District Employment Generation Skill Development and Training Officer Gurmail Singh was the Guest of Honour.
 
CBC, Jalandhar head, Field Publicity Officer Rajesh Bali informed that this is the first time that the ZRO has collaborated with his office CBC for the awareness drive in Punjab.
 
While interacting with the students of the college and RCD Govt ITI, Talwara, at the venue, Col Jaiveer Singh thoroughly informed them the criteria and required documents needed to join as Agniveers in Army. A formal demonstration of measuring required height and weight was also held. He specifically said that all candidates appearing for the recruitment have to clear Drug Test before the starting of the rally. Body Tattoos not allowed at all. He said that Punjab is known as sword arm of Indian Army and a large number of youth join the forces from the state to serve the motherland. He said that this belt of Talwara and Hoshiarpur has contributed hundreds of soldiers. He called upon the youth to serve the Nation as Agniveer and army officers. He said the last date for online Common Entrance Test (CEE) for Agniveers is March 15, 2023.
 
The whole programme was live streamed in almost all the ITIs, Polytechnics and Colleges of the district on the initiative of the Deputy Commissioner which was implemented by the District Employment Generation Skill Development and Training Officer Gurmail Singh.
 
MRPD Govt. College Principal, Gurmeet Singh introduced this awareness programme under Career Guidance and Counselling Cell of the college. He said the college will be providing free facility to all the interested college students for filling the form so that they should not depend upon internet cafes.
 
A photo exhibition displaying infographics on Agnipath was also organised on the occasion. Students took lot of interest in that and get connected with the website joinindianarmy.nic.in through the scanners given on the displayed photos.
 

Besides Subedar Major from ZRO, Japamony, Dr Monisha Sharma, Incharge, Career Counseling and Guidance Cell of Govt College, NCC Officer Muneesh Kashyap, Manoj Kumar, Placement Officer ITI, Talwara and District Placement Officer Rakesh Dadwal were also present on the occasion.
